Lost yourself in Motherhood?

We stare at our reflection trying to remember who we were once.

“I don’t know who I am anymore. My life consists of putting everyone else first. Their needs and their happiness, but who is putting my needs first or my happiness?”

I get you! As a mom, we give every bit of who we are, to do what makes others happy in order to please them. We unintentionally become selfless, becomes non-existent, eventually become unrecognisable and then realised we’ve changed “sobs”.

Our job never ends, we don’t get paid for our job and it’s ongoing. Overwhelming emotional exhaustion, arguing with tiny people who think they know better, cooking meals that aren’t up to their satisfaction and the repetitive groundhog days are mentally draining.

I can’t remember the last time I was really happy. I mean really truly happy.

Welcome to reality… Are You Happy Mom?

Perhaps it’s because my needs are no longer met and somehow I feel bad for even just stating this, my being. And yet this is all too common for women. I realised how much I wasn’t my own self until I took a step back and looked at my bigger picture.

Motherhood shouldn’t strip our individuality, neither that we need to give every ounce of ourselves to prove our love or capabilities to our family. Our being matters!

Today, I want to be a better Mom.

To realise my worth as a woman.

Going to find my sparkle and my happiness.
